Tournament Announcement

Student's Sport Club "Ósemka" Chojnice and Activites Room of Grammar School no 1 with associated Municipial Departament, Chojnice District, Chojnice Sailing Club, Promotion of Chojnice Region and Aquapark in Chojnice organize in 10 - 17 July 2009 V INTERNATIONAL CHESS FESTIVAL "CHOJNICE OPEN 2009"

The festival's main aim is popularization of the King's Game, raising chess skills and qualifications of the players, integration of the chess players through sport competiton according to FIDE maxim "GENS UNA SUMUS" (WE ARE ALL THE FAMILY) and promotion of Chojnice and it's touring and sporting values.

The competition will take place in Grammar School no 1, Młodzieżowa Street 44 in Chojnice. Tournament will be played in five groups, swiss system, 9 rounds, 1h/20moves + 1h/finished game.

• OPEN A - for players with rating> 2000 (entrance fee 70 PLN),
• OPEN B - for players with rating 1601- 1999 (entrance fee 60 PLN),
• OPEN C - for players with rating <1601- 1999 (entrance fee 50 PLN),
• OPEN D - for juniors to 16 years old (entrance fee 40 PLN),
• OPEN E - for juniors to 16 years old (entrance fee 30 PLN),

Organizers reserve the right to allow players to compete in any group even if they don't fulfill the ranking conditions People over 60 years old and players of UKS "Ósemka" pay half of the entrance fee. Grand masters and International Masters don't pay the entrance fee.

Classification-rating fee isn't included in the entrance fee.

Tournaments with Fide players (OPEN A i B) are announced to FIDE.
Prizes: Group A - 2.000 PLN, Group B - 800 PLN, Group C - 400 PLN, Group D and E - material prizes. Number and amount of remaining prizes will be declared at the technical meeting. Moreover the best player in OPEN A with rating to 2150 will be awarded. In OPEN A, B, C there will be money prizes for the best women and in OPEN D and E there will be material prizes for the best girls. In junior opens there will be separate classification to <8, <10 and <14 years old.

Total cost of accommodation and board of visitors in District Hostel - 50PLN + VAT (7%) per person. Cost of accommodation 20PLN + VAT (7%), only dinner 15 PLN + VAT (7%).

Accommodation in OLIMP hotel:

• 45 - 90 PLN per single room
• 60 - 120 PLN per double room
• 69 - 140 PLN per 3 person room
• 80 - 165 PLN per 4 person room

Full Board in "Słoneczna" restaurant near OLIMP hotel 28 - 30 PLN (dinner 15PLN).
There is possibility to accommodation in "Turystyczny" hotel (in city center) - costs like in OLIMP hotel.
The prizes of accommodation and food are subject to change in circumstances irrespective of the organizer.

Arrival of competitors will be on 10 July 2009 , technical meeting the same day at 19.00 in game hall.
